In 2018 Seaway7 was awarded the contract for the turnkey engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning (EPIC) works related to the inner array grid and export cable system of the Offshore Wind Farm Yunlin project. The offshore wind farm Yunlin is located approx. 8 km off the coast of Yunlin County within the Taiwan Strait on the west coast of Taiwan. The OWF consists of 80 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 8 MW and is based on an inner array grid and export cable system of 81 66 kV aluminium core submarine composite cables with a total length of up to 272 km. The submarine cable system is installed by utilising dedicated in-house resources such as Cable Lay Vessel Seaway Aimery and Installation Support Vessel Seaway Moxie.
The 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm is located in the Taiwan Strait on the west coast of Taiwan. Seaway7 was awarded the contract for the turnkey supply and installation of the inner array grid and export cable system for the project.
In addition to the inner array grid cable installation works, Seaway7 will also install the landfall / export cable system. Hereby Seaway7 will use horizontal directional drilling to install dedicated conduits.
In order to ensure a smooth operational execution, Seaway7 has established dedicated onshore facilities and has entered into local partnerships to allow for the transfer of knowledge and to assist in the development of local capabilities.
